Coach Dave Roca started his successful coaching career in Queens, New York as an assistant coach at Christ the King High School, a prestigious private school recognized as only 1 of 4 in the country that is fully sponsored basketball programs by Lebron James. Christ the King is known to have produced some of the best players that have made it to the NBA, such as Lamar Odom, Speedy Claxton, Eric Barkley, Malik Sealy, Jason Williams, and Derek Phelps, to name a few.

Coach Roca attended St. John’s University in Queens, New York, where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Business, a Master, and a Specialist Degree in School Counseling. Broward County Public Schools have employed him for over ten years. Roca is a Guidance Director/Administrator at Falcon Cove Middle School in Weston, FL, since 2007.  

Dave Roca has had 256 wins to 52 losses & won 3 Regional Championships, 2 Big 8 City Championships, seven consecutive District Championships,  3 State appearances, and 1 State Final.  In 2020-2021, the Pines Charter High School Varsity Basketball team earned its first State Championship recognition.
